My MAC lipstick collection including swatches :) xxx

Hey my lovelies.

Tonight I thought I'd share with you my MAC lipstick collection including swatches of them all. I personally always enjoy looking at other people's collections and swatches, it helps me decide what I'm next going to lust after.
Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see in particular, I'm happy to do any swatches you like. But for now, on to the lippies .....

Let's start with my regular line collection :

The swatches are in order as per the picture of the lipsticks in the tube (Left to right). They are as follows :

  • Girl About Town (Amplified Creme) - My all time favourite ever lipstick, THE perfect hot fuchsia shade. Amplified Creme finishes are creamy and opaque and on me they wear all day long.
  • Dare You (Cremesheen) - A beautiful warm shimmery red. The cremesheen finish is also very creamy and opaque.
  • Rebel (Satin) - A gorgeous deep berry plum, in the tube it looks almost purple but it leans cooler than that. Satin finish is also very opaque.
  • Show Orchid (Amplified Creme) - This colour is so vibrant and intense, I truly adore it. I would describe the shade as a cool fuchsia with purple undertones. This shade is available all year round at MAC pro stores.
  • Impassioned (Amplified Creme) - Neon at it's best. An orange toned bright pink.
  • Milan Mode (Lustre) - A sheer shimmering grape / pink shade. Lustre finishes are sheer but very glossy.
  • Russian Red (Matte) - A beautiful deep blue based red - I find Matte finishes can be very drying on the lips, but this one in particular doesn't seem to be too bad. I still always moisturise my lips before applying, there's nothing worse than dry flaky lips.
  • Viva Glam V (Lustre) - A gorgeous neutral pink with gold shimmer. This is one of my perfect "my lips but better" shades.

Onto my limited edition shades :

  • Purple Rite (Frost) Style Warriors Collection - This one is a sheer purple with a very frosty finish. The frost finishes for me are still very creamy and apply well, but they can lean TOO frosty so apply with care.
  • Hollywood Nights (Satin) Heatherette Collection - Beautiful creamy fuchsia pink that's super intense and opaque on the lips.
  • Violetta (Amplified Creme) Venomous Villains Collection - Gorgeous violet purple with hot pink undertones, again looks a lot darker in the tube than it actually is.
  • Kanga-Rouge (Amplified Creme) Dame Edna Collection - Uber bright blue toned red, not for the faint hearted, but I absolutely adore this shade.
  • Whirls & Twirls (Glaze) Glitter & Ice Collection - Beautiful pale gold sheen, looks absolutely amazing both in it's own right and over the top of any other lipstick. Glaze finishes tend to lean very glossy and sparkly, but also very sheer.
  • What Joy! (Satin) Glitter & Ice Collection - Deep berry red with a gorgeous shine to it.
  • Fun n' Sexy (Glaze) Fafi Collection - Beautiful sheer but shimmery hot pink with pink micro glitter. Truly gorgeous, I use this so rarely as I never ever want it to run out.
  • Hibiscus (Cremesheen) Surf Baby Collection - Amazing coral with golden shimmer, another shade that I absolutely adore.

Well that's it, all my MAC lipsticks laid out for you to see. I try to buy one with every collection I love and I try to save up my empties to use the "Back 2 MAC" facility to get any I want from the regular line.

Are you tempted by any of these? Are there any "must have" shades missing from my collection? Comment below and let me know your thoughts, I'm always keen to talk makeup :)

I'll be back soon with something new. Much love xxx

EDIT - I managed to completely forget about 2 lipsticks, disgraceful right :) so I'm just going to add them them below :

  • Thrills (Frost) To The Beach Collection - This is a gorgeous, shimmery gold toned copper. It's usually something I really REALLY wouldn't go for, but I bought it on a whim as I loved the packaging (shallow or what?!) and it's now one of my most used and adored lipsticks.
  • Bust Out (Lustre) Surf Baby Collection - Gorgeous super glossy deep plum / purple. It applies much sheerer than it looks in the tube.

That's officially it this time, I'm certain I haven't managed to forget any others :) xxx

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 hour Eyeshadows = WANT!!

Hey Lovelies, me again, just a really quick little post from me, nothing too in depth on a Monday :)

I've seen these new Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 hour eyeshadows popping up literally everywhere recently and receiving insane amounts of praise to boot, so naturally, I had to try and hunt them out immediately ........

Well as it's turns out, they're not currently available outside of the US (Quelle surprise?!) but if the rumour mill is anything to go by, apparently these little beauties will reach Europe shortly. I'll update you guys as and when I have any further information.

The thing that drew me to these initially was the fact that everyone is comparing these to MAC's paint pots, which I love with all my heart - But obviously because the Color Tattoo is made by Maybelline, they're a fraction of the cost at $6.99 each (I obviously don't know yet how this will be converted into £, it'll probably be like for like, but even at £6.99 they'd be great value). This price is for 0.14oz which is roughly 4g, in comparison, MAC Paint Pots are £14.50 for 5g of product.

Maybelline claim that these cream / gel eyeshadows are able to wear for 24 hours with no creasing or fading and that they have amazingly intense colour payoff. If you check out most of the reviews out there, it would seem that Maybelline are indeed telling the truth. I'd highly recommend checking out Temptalia for her review and swatches (www.temptalia.com) The colour range is amazing too, lots of nice bright and metallic shades which would make a nice change as MAC Paint Pots only have neutral shades available in the permanent line.

I'm 100% lusting after these and am keeping everything crossed that they make their way to Europe ASAP so I can get my grubby little mitts on them :) I'll of course review and swatch any that I do manage to grab.

Anyone out there been lucky enough to try these yet, or are you just craving them intensely like me? *wipes drool from chin* xxx

Surely everyone has a wish list ...............

Hey Everyone, me again. Two posts in one night, I'm on a roll!!

I just wanted to put a question to all you lovelies .... Do you have a wish list of beauty products you want to purchase in the future, or are you more of a buy everything you want then just wait until the next time you're out and buy more kinda gal?

I'm all about the wish lists, I love making lists anyway (weird huh lol) and I love the feeling of being able to finally afford to get something and cross it off my list.

I currently have so my things on my wish list, but I thought I'd share what some of them were and then as I get them I can cross them off my list and post a little review on each. Sounds fun right? .......... Or maybe it'll just act as an excuse for me to buy everything on my list :)

Here's my current list anyway :

  • MAC - Ruby Woo lipstick
  • MAC - Lickable lipstick
  • MAC - Frankly Scarlet blusher
  • Soap and Glory - Love at first blush
  • Soap and Glory - Solar powder
  • Tarte - Anything!!! I can't seem to find anywhere here in the UK that has this brand readily available. I'm very lucky to know some amazing American ladies, one has been kind enough to send me some Tarte bits and pieces before and we NEED this brand here.

That's it really for now, I was quite lucky to get a lot of what I wanted for Christmas, most of which I'll hopefully photograph and review soon.

I'd love to know what's on you wish list. Add you comments below and we can keep each other updated when we can cross things off.

Love to all xxx

Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm in "Frenzy" and Revlon Double Twist Mascara. A little review xxx

Revlon Double Twist Mascara and Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm

Hey all you gorgeous people.

This is my first little product review, so go easy on me please. I popped into town today with my bestie (We booked a girls holiday for September WOOHOO) and ended up in Superdrug and boots.
I only picked up a couple of things but I thought I may as well share them on here and give a mini review while I was at it. So here goes ..........

I picked up the Revlon Double Twist Mascara in Blackest Black and the Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm in Frenzy because they are currently both reduced to £5 in Superdrug  (Mascara is normally £8.99 and Lipstain is usually £7.99).

Here's a swatch of the Lipstain on the back of my hand :

The product has the stain in felt tip format at one end of the product, and the other end has a lip balm which is meant to add shine to the lips and avoid the "typical" lipstain feeling of dryness on the lips.
I would describe the shade Frenzy as orange toned red, the colour of the actual tube is quite deceiving as it's very pink. On my lips it's actually much more subtle than it looks on the back of my hand :

Excuse the picture, I look ridiculously tired, I re-took the picture 20 times and just gave up in the end :)

As for the product, I love the idea of a stain, I want to be able to apply my lip product first thing in the morning and for it still to be there come lunch time (who doesn't want that).
This Lipstain certainly delivers the staying power for me, it really does last and last, the picture above is actually around 6 hours after I first applied it, I just added more of the balm so you could see the overall effect.

The colour doesn't actually pack enough punch for me though, I want something more intense, but that's just my personal opinion. You can see the difference from the swatch on my hand to how it actually looks on my lips, though I gather you can layer this stain to get more intense pigment on lips.

The only thing I don't like is the application, the felt tip style applicator really drags on your lips and feels very hard and rough. Although I suppose you only have to put the stain on once so maybe it's worth putting up with the applicator if you love the product.
Overall I do like the product, the staying power is incredible and you can layer the stain to create a more intense pigment on your lips - The balm feels very slick and moisturising, not at all sticky which is an added bonus.
If you can put up with the hard applicator then this one is indeed a winner.

As for the Mascara, I ran a Google search before writing this post and the reviews out there at the minute on this product are truly truly awful, I'm going to shout from the rooftops
"I DISAGREE WITH YOU ALL."

Here's a piccie of me with the mascara on around 6 hours after I first applied it :

Apologies for the poor picture quality, but I'm sure you can clearly see how long and full my lashes look. Revlon claims that this mascara gives you volume and definition, and I have to agree. I should have included a picture of my lashes before the mascara, but I can assure you they looked nothing like this!
You can see a little smudging under my eyes, but this is the remnants of the eyeliner I removed to take this picture, 100% not from the mascara.

The negative reviews I've seen claim that this mascara flakes like crazy after a few hours, all I can say is ........ Not on me, I really really love this mascara so far. The wand is unusual in that it's "twirly" it looks like 2 straight wands twisted into one and other. For me the mascara applies like a dream, no clumping and no mess as the tube is one of those that removes all the excess mascara before it releases the wand.

I'm going to keep trying this mascara out for a while and see how the staying power is after a full day at work or just a full day on the go. But for now I'm going to give it a massive thumbs up and hope that it continues to perform as it could be my Holy Grail mascara which would be awesome for £7.99 usual full price.

Anyway, that's it, I hope I haven't rambled for too long. Please let me know if you have any questions or requests and I'll be back soon with something new.

Take care and love to all xxx

Hey Hey Hey - A little intro xx

Well hello there you lovely lot!

I just wanted to do a quick little intro to my blog which will hopefully soon be crammed full with lots of posts to keep you (and me) fully entertained.

My name is Sara (Wendy is a nickname, hence the blog title), I'm 29 and I am an official makeup / beauty product a' holic. I work full time, so this is going to be a super fun hobby for me.

I'm not a beauty snob in the least - I love my MAC, Benefit, Nars and other "high end" beauty brands as much as the next beauty obsessed person. But I'm not adverse to the MUA's and Collection 2000's of this world either, heck if it works and it saves me money it can get in my bag.

I'm mainly doing this to share my love of all things pretty, but I also want to interact with all the other beauty lovers out there, I love a good recommendation and I love trying new things. I'll do my utmost to answer every single question (if I get any hehehe) and respond to any feedback you may have.

Well I'm going to leave it at that, if you want to know anything else just ask - But I'm going to make my first posts tonight hopefully and you'll hopefully be able to see for yourself what kind of beauty junkie I am.

All that's left to say is welcome to Wendy's Glitterati, get involved and share the love xox
